Mayor Cam Guthrie, Poverty Dialogue and Bridges October 25, Guelph City Hall

We are excited to be presenting at the City of Guelph’s Poverty Dialogue hosted by our Mayor, Cam Guthrie. Tickets are moving fast so register now to attend October 25th 8:30-10:00 am 1 Carden Street.

The first-ever Mayor’s Dialogue on Poverty will feature Guelph-Wellington Bridges Out of Poverty facilitator and Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health nurse Elaine Weir. Elaine’s eye-opening presentation has helped dozens of organizations and hundreds of people change how they think and act about poverty. Bridges Out of Poverty, under the umbrella of Circles Guelph Wellington, is an innovative local program that educates individuals from the middle or upper class on what it means to live in poverty.

The program will include practical, tangible ways your business or not-for-profit organization can help eliminate poverty in Guelph and Wellington – beyond the usual food or clothing drives.

The event aims to raise awareness and understanding, reduce stigma, and get community and business leaders fired up to join local efforts to eradicate poverty.
